FRISCO — Four UTSA players earned Southland Conference All-Academic honors, the league office announced on Wednesday. The Roadrunners and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi both netted a circuit-leading four honorees.

Three of four selections — seniors Daniel Moser and Pedro Zanotelli and sophomore Yannick Junger — landed on the conference's top squad, while junior Tyler Brown garnered second-team accolades.

Moser, who was a first-team All-Southland pick at No. 6 singles for the second consecutive year, carries a 3.21 GPA in psychology. The Texarkana native ranked second on the team with a 13-10 overall record, which included a 10-4 mark at the sixth spot. He won seven of his final 10 tilts and also netted a pair of doubles victories this past spring.

Zanotelli, who earned first-team all-league honors at No. 1 doubles, holds a 3.02 GPA in business. The Foraleza, Brazil, native teamed up with Junger to net a perfect 5-0 mark against Southland opponents at the top doubles spot. Meanwhile, the duo recorded a 14-7 record in doubles play and won their final seven contests.

Junger, who made up the other half of the Southland's top doubles team, boasts a 3.37 GPA in business. The Stuttgart, Germany, native combined to win a total of 28 matches between doubles and singles contests this spring. He posted 15 victories in doubles play and added 13 more as the Roadrunners' top singles player.

Meanwhile, Brown, the 2011 Southland Student-Athlete of the Year, carries a 3.58 GPA in political science. He teamed up with junior Martin Ayala to earn second-team All-Southland honors at No. 2 doubles. The duo netted an 11-8 overall record, including a 3-1 ledger in league action. Brown also registered a 12-10 mark in singles play, with 10 of his victories coming at the second position.

The all-academic teams are voted on by the head coaches, sports information directors and academic advisors from each Southland university. Student-athletes must possess a 3.00 cumulative GPA, have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's competition to qualify for the all-academic squad.
