SAN ANTONIO — Four members of the UTSA women's track & field team — sophomores Jessica Edwards and Eboni Johnson and freshmen Jhorden Hunter and Krystal Wynn — have qualified for the NCAA Championships Preliminary Rounds and they will compete in Eugene, Ore., this weekend.

The three-day meet begins on Thursday at historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon. Click here for the complete meet schedule and live real-time results can be found here.

The Roadrunners have two entries — Edwards and Wynn — in the long jump, which will be contested at 6 p.m. (CT) on Thursday.

Edwards, who placed fifth at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships two weeks ago, holds the 41st-best mark in the 48-woman field (19-8/5.99m), while Wynn stands 43rd (19-7/5.97m) and she is coming off a seventh-place performance at the league meet. Each jumper will get three attempts with the top 16 getting three more and the top 12 finishers will advance to the national semifinals in Des Moines, Iowa.

Meanwhile, Hunter will compete in the 100 meters at 7:10 p.m. (CT) on the opening night. The Missouri City native, who will run in the second of six first-round heats, owns a season-best time of 11.60 (No. 4 on UTSA's all-time performers list) and that ranks 28th in the field of 48 sprinters. The top three finishers in each section along with the next six times will qualify for Friday's quarterfinals, which are scheduled for 6:20 p.m. (CT). She is coming off a sixth-place performance at the Southland Outdoor.

Johnson will enter Friday's triple jump competition, which is slated for 5:15 p.m. (CT), with a mark of 40-7 ½ (12.38m) that was recorded in a winning effort at the Trinity Alumni Classic. That marks stands fourth on the program's all-time performers chart and the Channelview native placed fifth at the Southland Outdoor two weeks ago. The event will follow the same format as the long jump.
