CONWAY, Ark. — Thursday's Southland Conference series opener between UTSA and Central Arkansas has been postponed due to rain. The three-game set now will begin with a 2 p.m. split doubleheader on Friday at UCA Field (second tilt to start at 6:30 p.m.), while Saturday's series and regular season finale will remain at its originally-scheduled time of 1 p.m.
The Roadrunners (20-27, 11-19 SLC) bring a season-long six-game winning streak into their final regular season series of the spring and they currently are two contests behind Nicholls (13-17 SLC) for the eighth and final spot in next week's Southland Tournament. The Colonels are playing at McNeese State this weekend. Meanwhile, the Bears (18-33-1, 8-20-1 SLC) are coming off last weekend's road sweep at Sam Houston State.
UTSA has won six of the eight all-time meetings with Central Arkansas, including a pair of home sweeps in 2007 and '09. The Bears took 2-of-3 contests from UTSA two years ago in Conway.
