Women's golf program announces 2014-15 schedule
SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head women’s golf coach Carrie Parnaby announced Wednesday her program’s 2014-15 schedule, which is highlighted by hosting The Alamo Invitational and the NCAA Central Regional, both at Briggs Ranch Golf Club.
The Roadrunners will play four fall events beginning with Texas A&M’s The “Mo”Morial on Sept. 8-10 in Bryan. UTSA then will travel to Wolcott, Colo., for the Golfweek Conference Challenge on Sept. 22-24 before making the short trip to Austin for the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational on Oct. 12-14.
UTSA will wrap up the fall campaign when it hosts The Alamo Invitational on Oct. 26-28 at Briggs Ranch. The Roadrunners will face a tough field that includes eight squads who finished the 2014 season ranked in the Golfstat Top 50 along with several of the top programs in Texas. Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Florida State, Houston, LSU, Oklahoma, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech and Tulane will join UTSA in the sixth edition of the event played in memory of Maryb S. Kauth.
The Roadrunners begin the spring season with three consecutive trips outside the state. UTSA will compete in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate on Feb. 22-24 in New Orleans, La., the SunTrust Gator Invitational on March 6-8 in Gainesville, Fla., and the LSU Tiger Classic on March 27-29 in Baton Rouge, La.
The Birds are scheduled to compete in the Dallas Athletic Club/SMU Invitational on April 10-12 in the final tune-up for the Conference USA Championship, which will be held on April 20-22 at a site to be determined.
UTSA will serve as the host institution for the NCAA Central Regional from May 7-9 at Briggs Ranch. The NCAA Championship is set for May 22-27 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.
