SAN ANTONIO — Miki Turner led four UTSA players in double figures with 16 points and the Roadrunners defeated East Central by a score of 76-50 in Friday's exhibition game at the Convocation Center.

Kamra King added 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting, while juniors Ashley Spaletta and Niaga Mitchell-Cole each tallied 11. Freshman Tesha Smith pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds in 15 minutes of action.

Trailing 15-13 midway through the first half, the Roadrunners went on a 25-6 run to close out the opening 20 minutes and they took a 41-24 lead into halftime. UTSA forced 13 Lady Tigers' turnovers in and went 16-for-21 from the foul line.

King led all scorers with 10 first-half points on 3-of-4 shooting, including one 3-pointer, and Smith corralled seven rebounds, which enabled the Birds to outrebound East Central, 28-22, in the opening half.

UTSA continued to pull away after intermission by outscoring the Lady Tigers 35-26 with Turner leading the way with 10 points. Smith continued her assault on the glass by snaring eight rebounds.
