ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Outfielder Darian Blake earned first-team All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) honors, the league office announced on Wednesday.

The Katy native leads UTSA with a .364 batting average, 51 hits and 23 runs scored to go along with six doubles, three triples and eight RBIs this spring. Blake also paces the squad with 13 multi-hit games and she has reached base safely in each of the last 13 contests. Batting in one of the top two spots in the batting order all season, she owns a .414 on-base percentage and is a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts.

During WAC play, Blake’s .403 average led the Roadrunners and tied for fourth among league hitters. She amassed 29 hits, including at least one in all but two of UTSA’s 21 conference tilts, and recorded four doubles, a pair of triples and three RBIs.

Blake and the fifth-seeded Roadrunners (26-24) open WAC Tournament play later today against I-35 rival and No. 4-seed Texas State (16-36) at 4:30 p.m.
