SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will look for its first wins away from the Alamo City this weekend when it travels east for matches at Sam Houston State and Houston. The Roadrunners will take on the Bearkats at 7 p.m. on Friday before a 1 p.m. matchup against the Cougars two days later.
UTSA (1-5) will attempt to snap a two-game losing skid after dropping the final match of the UTSA Classic to Kent State on Sept. 2 before a 4-0 setback to Baylor last Sunday.
Freshman goalkeeper Katarina Pus recorded a season-high nine saves against the Bears and the Sentvid, Slovenia, native leads the Western Athletic Conference with 5.33 stops per contest. Offensively, sophomore Liv Nyhegn leads the team with 14 shots, while senior Lindsay South, junior Maria Jose Rojas and freshman Simone Boye have three points apiece.
